Lochwood Market Update August 15, 2021

Lochwood Market Update – August 2021

Greetings, neighbor! It’s August 2021, so it’s time for another Lochwood Market Update!

July was another great month for home sales in Lochwood. The total number of sales outpaced those from one year ago and pending sales, which will likely close in August, are also higher than they were at the same time last year. Once again, the majority of homes that sold were purchased over the list price, within a few days of being listed in the MLS.

If you read the local newspaper at all, you’ve probably seen reports about the housing market starting to level out or that the market has peaked and is now correcting itself in terms of pricing. You may read an article like this and the next day read an article about how the market is just on fire. That inconsistency in reporting can be confusing for homeowners.

The truth is that oftentimes those reports are referring to housing either nationwide or throughout Dallas/Fort Worth. Well, DFW is a pretty big place, and what’s happening in Irving or Las Colinas is irrelevant to our neighborhood. What’s happening in Lake Highlands and other areas within East Dallas can be relevant to our neighborhood. That’s why it’s advantageous to work with someone who truly knows the ins and outs of Lochwood and the surrounding neighborhoods.

In addition to sending out this letter, I also post helpful information on my social media channels. Earlier this month, I posted a video on my YouTube channel about the three things every home seller should do when preparing their home for the market. It’s a quick watch and somewhat humorous. This link will take you to the video: https://bit.ly/Tips4HomeSellers. Please take a look when you have a moment. You can also call or text me with questions that you’d like answered, and I will answer in this letter, or in another video online.

Enjoy the rest of your summer and be well!
